Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Where is Face & Body Collective located?

Face & Body Collective is based in Birmingham. Full appointment details, directions and access information will be provided when booking is confirmed.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked online through our booking system. For general booking questions, please email bookings@facebodycollective.co.uk.

Who should I contact for skincare advice?

For skincare, treatment or product advice, please email gemma@facebodycollective.co.uk.

Do I need a consultation before booking a treatment?

For advanced skin treatments, we recommend starting with a consultation. This allows us to understand your skin, assess suitability and create the most appropriate treatment plan.

What if I am not sure which treatment to book?

Book a consultation. Many clients know what they want to improve but are unsure which treatment is right for them. We will guide you based on your skin and goals.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time so you can check in comfortably and enjoy a relaxed experience.

What happens if I am late?

Late arrival may reduce your treatment time. If there is not enough time to complete the treatment safely or properly, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Do you take deposits?

Some treatments, courses and programmes may require a deposit or prepayment at the time of booking.

Can I bring children to my appointment?

To maintain a calm clinic environment, we ask that children do not attend appointments unless agreed in advance.

Skin Consultations

What happens during a skin consultation?

We discuss your concerns, goals, skincare routine, treatment history and lifestyle factors before creating a personalised treatment plan.

Is the consultation redeemable?

Where stated, consultation fees may be redeemable against treatment within the specified timeframe.

Will I be pressured to buy products?

No. Any product recommendations are based on your skin needs and are completely optional.

Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?

Sometimes, depending on treatment suitability and availability. Advanced treatments may require a separate appointment.

HydraFacial

What is HydraFacial good for?

HydraFacial is ideal for dullness, congestion, dehydration, enlarged pores, uneven texture and general skin maintenance.

Is HydraFacial painful?

No. HydraFacial is generally comfortable and many clients find it relaxing.

Is there downtime after HydraFacial?

There is usually no downtime. Most clients return to normal activities immediately.

How often should I have HydraFacial?

Many clients have HydraFacial every 4–6 weeks, depending on their skin goals.

Microneedling

What is microneedling good for?

Microneedling can help improve acne scarring, fine lines, texture, pigmentation, enlarged pores and overall skin quality.

Does microneedling hurt?

A topical numbing product may be used where appropriate. Most clients describe the treatment as tolerable rather than painful.

Is there downtime after microneedling?

You may experience redness, warmth and sensitivity for a few days after treatment.

How many microneedling sessions will I need?

This depends on your concern. A course of 3–6 treatments is commonly recommended.

Dermalux LED

What is Dermalux LED good for?

Dermalux LED can support acne-prone skin, redness, inflammation, sensitivity, healing, dullness and overall skin health.

Does LED treatment hurt?

No. LED treatment is pain-free, non-invasive and relaxing.

Can LED be added to other treatments?

Yes. Dermalux LED works beautifully as an add-on to HydraFacial, microneedling, dermaplaning and Medik8 facials.

HIFU

What is HIFU used for?

HIFU is used for non-surgical skin tightening and may help improve firmness, jawline definition and facial contours.

When will I see results from HIFU?

Some clients notice an initial tightening effect, but results typically develop over 8–16 weeks as collagen production increases.

Is HIFU suitable for everyone?

No. Suitability depends on your skin, medical history and treatment goals. A consultation is required.

Dermaplaning

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a professional exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and fine facial hair for smoother, brighter skin.

Will hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?

No. Dermaplaning does not change the thickness, colour or growth pattern of facial hair.

Is dermaplaning suitable before an event?

Yes. It is popular before weddings, holidays and special occasions because skin often looks smoother and brighter immediately.

Medik8 Facials

Are Medik8 facials suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, treatments can be tailored to sensitive skin where appropriate.

Which Medik8 facial should I book?

If you are unsure, book a consultation or an entry-level Medik8 facial and we will tailor the treatment to your skin.

Can Medik8 facials be combined with LED?

Yes. Medik8 facials and Dermalux LED are a popular combination.
