Back to School, Back to Skin: A Simple Guide to Teenage & Breakout-Prone Skin

Back to School, Back to Skin: A Simple Guide to Teenage & Breakout-Prone Skin

New timetable. New uniform. New stationery. Maybe even a new school or college. September brings a fresh start – but if you’re struggling with breakouts, congestion or oily skin, feeling confident heading back into the classroom isn’t always quite so straightforward. At Face & Body Collective, we know how much troublesome skin can affect confidence, particularly during the teenage years. The good news? You don’t need a bathroom shelf full of trending products or a complicated 10-step skincare routine. In fact, when it comes to younger, breakout-prone skin, simple, consistent and appropriate skincare is often the best place to start. So, with the new school and college year approaching, here’s our guide to getting your skin – and your routine – back-to-school ready. First things first: teenage breakouts are incredibly common During the teenage years, hormonal changes can increase oil production within the skin. Combine excess oil with dead skin cells and blocked pores and you can begin to see blackheads, whiteheads, congestion and inflamed spots appearing. For some people it’s an occasional breakout. For others it can become much more persistent. The face isn’t necessarily the only area affected either – breakouts can also appear across the chest, shoulders and back. And while social media can sometimes make it seem as though everybody else has perfectly clear skin, the reality is very different. Troublesome skin during adolescence is extremely common. The important thing is learning how to care for it properly. Don’t declare war on your skin When spots appear, the natural reaction can be to attack them. Stronger cleanser. More exfoliation. Another acid. Scrubs. Spot treatments. Then another product you saw on TikTok. Before long, you’re using six different active ingredients and wondering why your skin feels irritated. More isn’t always better. Over-cleansing and repeatedly using harsh products can leave skin feeling stripped, dry and uncomfortable. Our approach is different. Rather than fighting your skin, we want to understand it and work with it. Start with the basics A teenage skincare routine doesn’t need to be complicated. For many people, a sensible starting point is: Morning:Gentle cleanse → Appropriate moisturiser → SPF Evening:Cleanse → Targeted skincare where appropriate → Moisturiser That’s it. Once those foundations are established, other products can be introduced if they’re actually needed. Consistency matters far more than having the biggest skincare collection amongst your friends. Cleansing matters – but be gentle Cleansing helps remove excess oil, dirt, sweat, sunscreen and other impurities that accumulate on the skin. For breakout-prone skin, it can be tempting to look for something that leaves the face feeling extremely tight or “squeaky clean.” That isn’t necessarily what we want. A cleanser should leave your skin feeling clean and comfortable – not stripped. For teenagers who play sport, go to the gym or simply become sweaty during the day, cleansing appropriately becomes even more important. And one simple tip that’s easily forgotten: Take your makeup off before bed. No matter how late you get home. Your skin will thank you for it. Stop picking! We know. It’s easier said than done. When a spot appears the evening before school, squeezing it can feel like the obvious solution. Unfortunately, repeatedly picking and squeezing blemishes can increase inflammation and potentially contribute to longer-lasting marks. Hands also touch phones, keyboards, door handles and countless other surfaces throughout the day. Try to keep them away from your face. If persistent spots or congestion are bothering you, that’s something we’d much rather assess properly than have you standing in front of the bathroom mirror trying to perform your own extraction. Be careful with skincare trends Teenage skincare has become huge on social media. Some of that increased interest is brilliant. Young people are becoming much more educated about sunscreen, ingredients and looking after their skin. But there’s another side to it. Not every trending product is appropriate for teenage skin. And just because somebody online uses a particular acid, retinoid or high-strength active doesn’t mean you need it too. Skincare should address your skin, not somebody else’s routine. Before introducing lots of active ingredients, particularly if you’re already experiencing irritation or persistent breakouts, getting some professional guidance can save an enormous amount of trial and error. Don’t forget your everyday habits Skincare products are only one part of looking after breakout-prone skin. A few simple habits are worth remembering: Change your pillowcase regularly Clean your phone screen Avoid constantly touching or picking your face Remove makeup properly before sleeping Cleanse after becoming particularly sweaty Keep hair and styling products from repeatedly sitting against breakout-prone areas where possible Don’t share makeup brushes or applicators Wash makeup brushes regularly None of these individually represents a miracle cure. But good skincare is often about lots of sensible habits working together. And yes – moisturiser still matters One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding oily or breakout-prone skin is that it doesn’t need moisturiser. It does. The important thing is finding an appropriate formula for your individual skin. Trying to completely dry out oily skin isn’t our objective. We want skin that feels balanced, comfortable and well cared for while addressing the concerns that are actually bothering you. What about professional facials? This is where we can help. If you’ve spent months buying different products without really knowing what you’re trying to achieve, coming into clinic gives us an opportunity to start from the beginning. At Face & Body Collective, the first step isn’t about selling somebody the biggest treatment package possible. It’s understanding what’s happening. What does your skin currently look and feel like? Where are the breakouts occurring? What products are you already using? How frequently? Are you experiencing blackheads and congestion, occasional blemishes or something more persistent? From there, our therapists can discuss which professional treatments may be appropriate and, importantly, help you establish a sensible homecare routine to support your skin between appointments. Building a skin journey For troublesome skin, we particularly like the idea of a journey rather than a one-off facial. Skin changes take time. A treatment can be a fantastic starting point, but what you’re doing during all the days between appointments matters enormously too. That’s why we can combine professional treatments with homecare recommendations and then review how your skin responds. We can adjust things. Simplify things. Introduce something new when appropriate. Or sometimes tell you to leave your routine alone and give it time to work. The aim isn’t perfection overnight. It’s progress. A note for parents If you’re reading this because your teenager is becoming increasingly self-conscious about their skin, sometimes the most useful first step is simply giving them somewhere supportive to talk about it. Breakouts might seem like a small issue from the outside, but they can have a very real impact on confidence. Our treatment team understands that. We want younger clients to feel comfortable asking questions without feeling embarrassed or judged. And importantly, professional beauty treatments aren’t a substitute for medical care. If we feel someone’s skin concerns would be more appropriately assessed by a GP, pharmacist or dermatologist – particularly where acne is persistent, painful, scarring or more severe – we’ll say so. Sometimes the best advice we can give is knowing when something sits outside the treatment room. Start September feeling confident Going back to school or college should be about seeing your friends, starting something new and looking forward to the year ahead – not spending every morning worrying about the latest breakout. So this September, perhaps your fresh start could include your skin too. Not a cupboard full of new products. Not another complicated routine. Just a sensible plan, some consistency and the right support. Start your skin journey with Face & Body Collective Our treatment team is now welcoming clients at Face & Body Collective, including our Wolverhampton clinic. If you or your teenager are struggling with breakout-prone, congested or troublesome skin, you can book a consultation or suitable facial treatment with our team and start building a skincare journey that makes sense for you. Come in with your questions. Tell us what you’ve already tried. And if you already have skincare products at home, tell us about those too. We’ll help you strip away the confusion and start with what your skin actually needs. Because getting back-to-school ready isn’t just about the new uniform – feeling good in your own skin matters too.

Christmas Has Arrived: Discover the Medik8 Festive Collection 2026

There are certain deliveries that make it feel like Christmas has officially begun at Face & Body Collective. And this is definitely one of them. The Medik8 Festive Collection 2026 has arrived. This year’s collection brings together some of the formulas our clients already know and love, alongside an exciting opportunity to discover something new. From vitamin C and hydration to peptides, retinal and next-generation skincare, the six beautifully curated sets cover everything from an introduction to Medik8 through to a seriously impressive routine for the seasoned skincare devotee. And we think Medik8 has got the balance particularly right this year. Rather than creating gift sets filled with products that don’t necessarily belong together, each collection has a purpose. They’re essentially ready-made skincare routines built around different needs and different levels of experience. So whether you’re buying for somebody who already talks about Crystal Retinal like it’s a member of the family, introducing somebody to professional skincare for the first time, or simply buying yourself a very well-deserved Christmas present, there’s something here. Here’s the Face & Body Collective guide to Medik8 Christmas 2026. Firm Favourites – Lifting & Rejuvenating Duo Contains:Liquid Peptides Advanced 30ml – Full SizeExo-PDRN Prismatic+ 30ml – Full Size Let’s begin with the one we’re particularly excited about. Firm Favourites is a professional-exclusive festive set pairing two full-size products: Liquid Peptides Advanced and Exo-PDRN Prismatic+. It’s an interesting combination because it brings together one product that’s already becoming a real favourite amongst our clients with one of the newer additions to the Medik8 family. Liquid Peptides Advanced is a peptide-focused serum designed for those looking to address visible signs of ageing and support a smoother, firmer-looking complexion. Alongside it sits Exo-PDRN Prismatic+, Medik8’s youthful-vitality serum featuring Prismatic PDRN and a triple exosome complex. Medik8 currently positions Prismatic+ within its age-defying range.  For us, that’s what makes this set particularly interesting. If you already love Liquid Peptides Advanced but haven’t ventured into Prismatic+ yet, this is a brilliant opportunity to discover it as part of a complementary routine. Perfect for: the serious skincare enthusiast, peptide lovers, somebody looking to elevate an established routine, or an existing Liquid Peptides fan who wants to discover Prismatic+. It’s also one of those gifts that doesn’t feel like a token Christmas present. Two full-size advanced serums make this a proper skincare investment. Age-Defying Essentials – Ultimate Skin Renewing Heroes Contains:Crystal Retinal 6 30ml – Full SizeAdvanced Pro-Collagen+ Peptide Cream 50ml – Full SizeLiquid Peptides Advanced MP 4ml – Deluxe Sample If we had to pick a set for the established Medik8 devotee, this would be very high on the list. Age-Defying Essentials combines two full-size products with a deluxe introduction to Liquid Peptides Advanced MP. And at its heart is one of our favourites: Crystal Retinal 6. Crystal Retinal 6 is positioned by Medik8 for regular vitamin A users, making this set particularly suited to somebody who is already comfortable with retinal rather than somebody taking their very first steps into vitamin A.  It’s paired with Advanced Pro-Collagen+ Peptide Cream, bringing the moisturising and peptide side of the routine into the equation too. Then there’s the Liquid Peptides Advanced MP sample, giving the recipient another opportunity to explore one of Medik8’s advanced peptide formulas. The result is a set that feels beautifully complete. Perfect for: established Medik8 users, regular Crystal Retinal users and anyone whose skincare priorities include smoother, firmer and more youthful-looking skin. If somebody has Crystal Retinal 6 permanently sitting on their bathroom shelf, we’d be taking a very close look at this one. Rejuvenation Routine – Protecting & Renewing Essentials Contains:Daily Radiance Vitamin C 50ml – Full SizeCrystal Retinal 3 30ml – Full SizeExo-PDRN Prismatic+ – Deluxe Sample Morning and evening skincare, sorted. Rejuvenation Routine is perhaps one of the easiest sets in the collection to understand because it brings together two pillars of the Medik8 philosophy: vitamin C by day and vitamin A by night. Daily Radiance Vitamin C provides the morning component, while Crystal Retinal 3 takes its place in the evening routine. Crystal Retinal 3 is Medik8’s 0.03% retinal serum and is positioned for vitamin A beginners, making this a particularly interesting set for somebody who’s ready to take their routine beyond the basics.  Then there’s a deluxe sample of Exo-PDRN Prismatic+, providing an opportunity to experience one of Medik8’s newer innovations without immediately committing to the full-size serum. We love the logic behind this collection. Rather than gifting somebody lots of unrelated skincare, you’re giving them the foundations of a genuine routine. Perfect for: someone ready to begin a more results-focused skincare journey, newer Crystal Retinal users or somebody who wants an easy introduction to some of Medik8’s hero technologies. If you’ve heard everybody talking about retinal but haven’t known where to begin, this could be a very good place to start. Radiance Ritual – Brightening & Hydrating Heroes Contains:Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream 50ml – Full SizeC-Tetra Luxe 8ml – Travel SizeHydr8 B5 Intense 8ml – Travel SizeAdvanced Day Ultimate Protect SPF 50+ 5ml – Deluxe Sample Glow, hydration and everyday protection. Radiance Ritual is arguably the great all-rounder of the 2026 collection. You get a full-size Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream alongside travel sizes of C-Tetra Luxe and Hydr8 B5 Intense, plus an Advanced Day Ultimate Protect SPF 50+ deluxe sample. Medik8 describes the combination as bringing together antioxidants, multi-weight hydration and daily UV protection.  It’s also a lovely way of experiencing several different parts of the Medik8 range without immediately moving into stronger vitamin A products. C-Tetra Luxe brings vitamin C into the routine. Hydr8 B5 Intense focuses on hydration. Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream provides the everyday moisturising step. And the SPF sample completes the daytime story. Perfect for: somebody concerned with dullness or dehydration, skincare newcomers, vitamin C fans, frequent travellers, or simply somebody who loves that fresh, hydrated, healthy-looking glow. We also think this is a particularly easy set to gift when you don’t know every detail of somebody’s existing skincare routine. It’s luxurious, useful and approachable. Nighttime Nourish – Firming & Renewing Duo Contains:Crystal Retinal 3 30ml – Full SizeAdvanced Night Restore 12.5ml – Travel Size Sometimes the best skincare routines are the simplest. Nighttime Nourish takes two evening favourites and puts them together in one straightforward duo. Crystal Retinal 3 provides the vitamin A step, while Advanced Night Restore gives you the rich moisturising step to follow. Advanced Night Restore is Medik8’s multi-ceramide night cream, while Crystal Retinal 3 is the entry point within the main Crystal Retinal ladder for vitamin A beginners.  That makes this an especially nice introduction to the Medik8 evening philosophy. Cleanse. Apply your Crystal Retinal appropriately. Follow with your night cream. Bed. Good skincare doesn’t always require ten bottles. Perfect for: somebody wanting to establish a proper evening routine, a newer retinal user, an existing Crystal Retinal 3 devotee or anyone who appreciates a simple but considered nighttime regime. It also makes a lovely stepping-stone for somebody who’s perhaps been using fairly basic skincare and wants to begin exploring professional-grade homecare. Moisture Minis – Protecting & Nourishing Duo Contains:Daily Radiance Vitamin C 12.5ml – Travel SizeAdvanced Night Restore 12.5ml – Travel Size Small but very well formed. Moisture Minis combines two travel-sized Medik8 favourites covering morning and evening. Daily Radiance Vitamin C is a vitamin C and SPF 30 two-in-one moisturiser, while Advanced Night Restore is the brand’s multi-ceramide night cream.  It’s uncomplicated skincare that makes sense. One for the day. One for the night. And because both are minis, it’s also a lovely way for somebody to experience Medik8 before moving into their full-size favourites. At £28 on Medik8’s current UK listing, it’s the most accessible of the festive sets and lends itself particularly well to smaller gifts and stocking fillers.  Perfect for: Medik8 newcomers, travellers, stocking fillers, Secret Santa, a smaller luxury gift or somebody who simply wants their favourite moisturisers in travel-friendly sizes. And, frankly, there’s nothing wrong with buying one for yourself and putting it in your Christmas travel bag either. So, which Medik8 Christmas set should you choose? That’s probably the question we’ll be answering most in clinic over the coming weeks. And the answer depends on the person you’re buying for. If they’re already an experienced Medik8 user, look towards Age-Defying Essentials or Firm Favourites. If they’re beginning their vitamin A journey, Rejuvenation Routine or Nighttime Nourish could make much more sense. If they’re all about hydration and glow, we’d point you towards Radiance Ritual. And if you want a beautiful introduction to Medik8 without committing to a large routine, Moisture Minis is difficult to beat. That’s one of the strengths of this year’s collection: there isn’t really one universal “hero” set. They’re aimed at different people and different stages of a skincare journey. Medik8 itself describes its festive approach as curated routines designed to simplify the route to great skin rather than simply providing more products, and we think that’s reflected particularly well in this year’s edit.  Not sure? Ask us. Of course, skincare is personal. What your best friend swears by might not be what your skin needs at all. And products containing active ingredients such as retinal are something we particularly want people to choose appropriately rather than simply picking the strongest number on the shelf. That’s where Face & Body Collective comes in. Our therapists work with Medik8 professionally and can help you understand the range, whether you’re choosing a Christmas present for somebody who already loves the brand or beginning your own skincare journey. You can speak to us in clinic, explore the collection online or ask the team for some guidance before choosing. And if Christmas happens to be the excuse you’ve been waiting for to buy yourself the skincare you’ve had your eye on all year? We won’t tell anyone. Christmas 2026 at Face & Body Collective This year’s Medik8 collection is just one part of what we’re building for the festive season at Face & Body Collective. Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing more gift inspiration, skincare advice, treatment ideas and ways to keep your skin looking its best throughout party season and into the New Year. But for now, Medik8 Christmas 2026 has officially landed – and it’s a very good one. From the brilliantly simple Moisture Minis through to the professional-exclusive Firm Favourites pairing of Liquid Peptides Advanced and Exo-PDRN Prismatic+, this is a collection built around products people will actually use long after the wrapping paper has disappeared. Explore the Medik8 Festive Collection 2026 at Face & Body Collective, or speak to our treatment team and let us help you find the perfect set for the person you’re buying for – even when that person happens to be you.

Fuller, Healthier-Looking Lashes: Your Guide to Better Lash Care

There’s something about great lashes that can completely change the way you feel about your eyes. Longer-looking, fuller and beautifully conditioned lashes can help frame the face, enhance your natural features and give that effortlessly put-together look – even on the days when you don’t want to wear much makeup. But achieving beautiful lashes isn’t necessarily about piling on more mascara or relying on extensions. At Face & Body Collective, we’re big believers in looking after what you naturally have. That’s why we’re delighted to work with UKLASH as our official lash partner, alongside offering professional lash and brow treatments in clinic with Molly. So whether you’re looking to improve the appearance of your natural lashes, want to give them a little extra TLC or simply want to understand how to look after them properly, here’s our guide. Healthy-looking lashes start with good habits We spend a lot of time talking about skincare routines, but lashes deserve some attention too. Your lashes go through a natural growth cycle, and just like the hair on your head, individual lashes will naturally grow and shed. What we can control is how we treat them. Aggressive makeup removal, repeatedly rubbing the eyes, sleeping in mascara and being too heavy-handed with curlers can all put unnecessary stress on delicate lashes. The first rule of better lash care is therefore incredibly simple: Be gentle. When removing eye makeup, allow your cleanser or eye makeup remover time to do the work rather than repeatedly pulling or rubbing at the lashes. And however tired you are at the end of the evening, try not to make sleeping in mascara a habit. Meet our official lash partner: UKLASH When we began developing the lash offering at Face & Body Collective, we wanted a dedicated brand that could sit naturally alongside our professional treatments and our wider approach to beauty and skincare. That’s where UKLASH comes in. As our official lash partner, UKLASH gives our clients another way to incorporate dedicated lash care into their everyday beauty routine. The philosophy fits nicely with ours: professional treatments can create a beautiful result in clinic, but what you do at home matters too. Just as we wouldn’t expect one facial to replace a good skincare routine, looking after your lashes consistently is an important part of keeping them looking their best. What is a lash serum? Lash serums are designed to be incorporated into your regular beauty routine and help condition and care for the appearance of your natural lashes. Rather than thinking of lash care as something you only consider immediately before an event or holiday, think about it in the same way you would your skincare. Consistency is key. A regular routine gives you the opportunity to look after your natural lashes over time rather than searching for a last-minute quick fix. And because the eye area is delicate, always follow the individual product instructions carefully. The little things that can make a difference Alongside dedicated lash products, there are some very simple habits worth adopting: Remove eye makeup gently every evening Avoid pulling or picking at your lashes Keep mascara and eye makeup tools clean Replace old eye makeup regularly Use lash curlers carefully rather than repeatedly clamping the lashes Avoid unnecessarily rubbing your eyes Follow the aftercare instructions following professional lash treatments Give your natural lashes the same care and attention you give your skin and hair None of these are particularly glamorous. But beauty routines don’t always need to be complicated to be effective. Don’t forget your brows Beautiful lashes rarely exist in isolation when we’re thinking about the overall eye area. Brows frame the face too. The right brow shape can help create balance, complement your eyes and make an enormous difference to your overall appearance without dramatically changing how you naturally look. That’s one reason we’ve built lashes and brows into our wider treatment offering at Face & Body Collective. Sometimes the smallest details create the biggest difference. Meet Molly: lashes, brows and skin If you’ve been following our recent news, you’ll know we’ve welcomed Molly to the Face & Body Collective treatment team. Alongside her work with professional facial treatments and skincare, Molly also offers lash and brow treatments, allowing clients to combine different elements of their beauty routine with somebody they get to know and trust. We really like that continuity. You might initially meet Molly for your lashes or brows and later decide you’d like some guidance with your skin. Or perhaps you’re already visiting her for facials and want to add a lash or brow appointment ahead of a holiday, birthday or special occasion. It’s about creating a treatment experience that feels personal rather than transactional. Creating your pre-event beauty plan If you have something special in the diary, it can be worth thinking about your lashes and brows ahead of time rather than leaving everything until the final few days. Weddings, holidays, graduations, parties and big birthdays are all occasions where clients naturally want to feel their best. A little planning gives you time to establish your home routine, book any professional treatments and avoid making lots of last-minute changes. And sometimes, you don’t need an occasion at all. Looking good on an ordinary Wednesday is reason enough. Can you combine professional treatments with home lash care? This is where we think the combination of UKLASH and our in-clinic offering becomes particularly useful. Rather than treating retail products and professional appointments as two completely separate worlds, they can form different parts of the same beauty routine. Your appointment with Molly provides the professional element. Your homecare allows you to continue looking after your lashes between visits. And when you’re unsure what you should be using or how something fits alongside your treatment, you can simply ask us. That’s exactly how we want Face & Body Collective to work. A more considered approach to beauty Our philosophy has never been about encouraging people to change everything about themselves. Great treatments should enhance what’s already there. A well-shaped brow. Beautifully presented natural lashes. Healthy-looking skin. Small details can make you feel noticeably more polished without creating a result that feels overdone. And as Face & Body Collective continues to grow, we’re bringing together professional skincare, beauty treatments and carefully selected retail partners so our clients can access more of that experience in one place. Your lash journey starts here If you’d like to give your lashes a little more attention, there are two easy ways to begin. You can explore our UKLASH collection online and introduce dedicated lash care into your home routine. Or, if you’d prefer the professional touch, book a lash or brow appointment with Molly at Face & Body Collective. And there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from doing both. Whether you’re preparing for a special occasion or simply fancy feeling a little more polished every morning, we’ll help you find an approach that works for you. Fuller, healthier-looking lashes don’t need to mean a complicated beauty routine – sometimes a little consistency, the right homecare and a professional helping hand are all you need.

Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP: The Next Generation of Peptide Skincare

by Courtyard Spa

Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP: The Next Generation of Peptide Skincare

Peptides have been part of high-performance skincare for years, but the science surrounding them continues to evolve. For anyone focused on visible lines, firmness and maintaining smoother-looking skin, they have become one of the most interesting categories of modern skincare ingredients. Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP takes that category considerably further. Rather than being positioned simply as another hydrating peptide serum, Medik8 has developed Advanced MP specifically to target both visible expression lines and deeper-set wrinkles – combining a 30% multi-peptide complex with its breakthrough Dual MiniProteins™ technology. Here’s why we’re particularly excited about it at Face & Body Collective. First: what exactly are peptides? Peptides are short chains of amino acids. Amino acids form the building blocks of proteins, including important structural proteins within the skin such as collagen and elastin. Different peptides can perform different functions within a skincare formula, which is why the word “peptide” alone doesn’t tell you everything about a product. Some peptide technologies are designed to support collagen, some target the visible appearance of expression lines, while others can contribute to hydration and the overall appearance of firmer, smoother skin. The sophistication comes from choosing the right combination – and delivering those ingredients effectively. Liquid Peptides vs Liquid Peptides Advanced MP This is an important distinction. Medik8’s original Liquid Peptides remains an excellent serum. It contains a 30% peptide blend incorporating 10 peptides and is designed particularly around the first signs of ageing, hydration, plumping and helping to smooth fine lines. Liquid Peptides Advanced MP is different. Advanced MP has been developed for more targeted action on visible expression lines and established, deeper-set wrinkles. At the centre of the formula is Medik8’s Dual MiniProteins™ technology. The brand describes this as a world-first biotechnology breakthrough within skincare. What are Dual MiniProteins™? The technology comprises two different MiniProteins, each with a specific role. Expression Line MiniProtein™ This is designed to help relax and smooth the appearance of dynamic expression lines, supporting a visible reduction in wrinkle depth. Think about the areas of the face that move repeatedly throughout the day – smiling, frowning, squinting and other expressions all contribute to the appearance of dynamic lines over time. Growth Factor MiniProtein™ The second technology works differently. Growth Factor MiniProtein™ is designed to act on skin cells to support collagen and elastin production, helping promote firmer and smoother-looking skin over time. This dual approach is what makes Advanced MP particularly interesting: it isn’t only focused on how wrinkles appear immediately. The formula is also designed around longer-term visible skin improvement. How quickly does Liquid Peptides Advanced MP work? This is perhaps the headline surrounding the product. Medik8 reports that Liquid Peptides Advanced MP is clinically proven to diminish the appearance of expression lines in 10 minutes, with deep-set wrinkle reduction demonstrated after eight weeks. That distinction matters. The immediate result addresses the visible appearance of expression lines, while continued use is intended to support more established signs of ageing over time. As with any skincare product, consistency remains essential. The most meaningful skincare routines are the ones you can maintain. Who is Liquid Peptides Advanced MP for? We see Advanced MP as particularly relevant for clients whose concerns have moved beyond the very earliest signs of ageing. You may want to explore it if you’re noticing: Expression lines More established wrinkles Changes in firmness Uneven skin texture Loss of plumpness A desire for more advanced age-defying skincare It can also be an excellent option for someone who enjoys active skincare but wants to introduce sophisticated peptide technology alongside ingredients such as vitamin C and vitamin A. How do you use Liquid Peptides Advanced MP? This is where a good routine becomes important. Medik8 recommends that when using Advanced MP alongside C-Tetra Advanced in the morning, Liquid Peptides Advanced MP is applied first, followed by C-Tetra Advanced, moisturiser and SPF. An advanced morning routine might therefore look like: Cleanse → Liquid Peptides Advanced MP → C-Tetra Advanced → Moisturiser → SPF In the evening, Advanced MP can be used after cleansing and before your vitamin A product, such as Crystal Retinal. That creates a highly considered routine addressing several aspects of skin ageing without simply layering products randomly. Why peptides work particularly well within a professional skincare plan One of the biggest mistakes we see in skincare is viewing every product independently. A serum can be fantastic, but the bigger question is: what is the rest of your routine doing? At Face & Body Collective, we want homecare to complement what we’re doing in the treatment room. That may mean building a routine around maintaining hydration and the skin barrier, targeting pigmentation, supporting visible ageing concerns or preparing the skin for a particular treatment pathway. Liquid Peptides Advanced MP gives our therapists another sophisticated option when building those programmes. Is the most advanced product always the right one? No – and that’s important. If you’re only beginning to notice fine lines, Medik8’s original Liquid Peptides may already provide exactly what your skin needs. If deeper-set wrinkles and expression lines have become a greater concern, Advanced MP may represent the more appropriate progression. Good skincare isn’t about collecting the most expensive or most technologically advanced products available. It’s about choosing products with a purpose. The Face & Body Collective view Liquid Peptides Advanced MP represents exactly the type of skincare innovation we enjoy introducing to our clients: sophisticated science translated into something that can actually fit into an everyday routine. Its combination of immediate visible effects and longer-term targeted wrinkle support makes it particularly interesting for clients looking to move into more advanced age-defying skincare. Most importantly, it gives us another way of personalising the journey between professional treatments and homecare. Discover Liquid Peptides Advanced MP Shop Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP online at Face & Body Collective, or speak with Gemma or Molly about incorporating peptide skincare into your professional treatment and homecare plan. If you’re already using vitamin C, Crystal Retinal or other active skincare, we can also help you work out exactly where Advanced MP should sit within your existing routine.

Meet Molly: Welcoming the Newest Member of the Face & Body Collective Treatment Team

Meet Molly: Welcoming the Newest Member of the Face & Body Collective Treatment Team

There’s something special about introducing a new member of the team – particularly when it coincides with an exciting new chapter for Face & Body Collective. So, we’re delighted to officially introduce Molly, who has joined our treatment team and will be welcoming clients at our Wolverhampton clinic. Molly has now completed her professional Medik8 training and has already begun carrying out facial treatments, with her first clients through the door following her training last week. And from the feedback so far, she’s off to a fantastic start. A new face at Face & Body Collective As we continue to develop Face & Body Collective, one thing has been incredibly important to us: creating a treatment team that genuinely cares about the experience clients have when they walk through our doors. A beautiful clinic and brilliant products matter, of course. But ultimately, it’s the person carrying out your treatment who makes the experience. Molly brings a warm, enthusiastic approach to the treatment room and already has a loyal client following within the local area. She knows how important it is for somebody to feel comfortable, listened to and looked after – whether they’re visiting for their very first facial or are already confident with professional skincare. We’re incredibly pleased to have her as part of the next stage of Face & Body Collective. Beginning her journey with Medik8 One of Molly’s first milestones since joining us has been completing her professional training with Medik8. Medik8 sits at the heart of our professional facial offering, so giving our therapists the knowledge and confidence to understand the products, protocols and different client pathways is incredibly important to us. Molly has thrown herself into that training. Having completed her initial professional training, she has now moved straight into treating clients at our Wolverhampton location and putting that knowledge into practice. But her education won’t stop there. Professional skincare is constantly developing, and ongoing training will form a big part of Molly’s journey with Face & Body Collective. As new treatments, technologies and protocols become available, we’ll continue investing in her development and expanding what she can offer her clients. More than simply booking a facial One of the things we’re trying to do differently at Face & Body Collective is move away from the idea of simply choosing a facial from a menu and leaving it there. We want to create skin journeys. That means understanding what somebody would actually like to improve, looking at what they’re currently doing at home and then deciding how professional treatments and appropriate homecare can work together. For some clients, the priority might be hydration and restoring radiance. For others, it could be blemishes, visible pigmentation, texture or the first signs of ageing. And for somebody else, their appointment might simply be an opportunity to switch off, have their skin professionally cared for and enjoy an hour for themselves. There doesn’t need to be one standard pathway. Molly will work with clients to understand what they’re hoping to achieve and help build an approach around them. Professional treatments, supported by professional homecare Another important part of Molly’s role will be helping clients make sense of skincare. The sheer number of products, ingredients and trends available today can make skincare unnecessarily confusing. Vitamin C. Retinal. Peptides. Ceramides. Acids. PDRN. Which ones do you actually need? Which products work together? And perhaps most importantly – which ones are right for your skin? Our therapists aren’t there simply to put products on a shelf. Molly can help clients understand their existing routine, identify where there may be gaps and recommend appropriate professional homecare where it genuinely adds something. With brands including Medik8 forming part of our clinic offering, that also means the products used during your professional journey can connect naturally with what you’re doing at home. Our Wolverhampton clinic Molly will primarily be based at our Wolverhampton treatment location, giving Face & Body Collective a new base from which to welcome clients from across Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas. We’ve put a huge amount of work into creating the treatment environment. From professional equipment and products through to the smaller details within the rooms, our aim has been to create somewhere that feels considered, comfortable and professional without losing the personal feel we want Face & Body Collective to be known for. And we’re only getting started. Over the coming months we’ll continue developing the space, expanding our treatment offering and investing in the equipment, education and products available to our therapists. Already welcoming her first clients Perhaps the nicest part of announcing Molly’s arrival is that her journey has already begun. Following completion of her training last week, Molly has started carrying out her first facial treatments – and clients are already beginning to explore professional skincare and homecare with her. It’s exactly how we hoped this next chapter would begin. Slowly, personally and with the focus firmly on creating great experiences for the people coming through the door. As Molly becomes more established within the clinic, we’ll also be sharing more educational content from the treatment team – answering common skincare questions, looking at different skin concerns and helping demystify some of the ingredients and treatments clients hear so much about. Meet Molly in clinic If you’ve been considering having a professional facial, want to improve your current skincare routine or simply aren’t sure where to begin, Molly would love to welcome you. You don’t need to arrive knowing which treatment or products you need. That’s part of what we’re here for. Come in, talk to us about your skin and let us help you work out the next step. A very warm welcome to Molly Building Face & Body Collective isn’t simply about adding more treatments or more products. It’s about building the right team around our clients. We’re incredibly excited to have Molly joining us, and we’re looking forward to watching her develop her treatment expertise, build relationships with her clients and become an important part of Face & Body Collective. Welcome to the team, Molly. We think this is going to be the beginning of something really exciting. Book with Molly Molly is now welcoming clients for treatments at our Wolverhampton clinic. Explore our treatments and book your appointment with Molly online, or get in touch with the Face & Body Collective team if you’re unsure where to start. Why Medik8 Advanced Night Restore Has Become a Night-Time Skincare Essential

by Courtyard Spa

Why Medik8 Advanced Night Restore Has Become a Night-Time Skincare Essential

There is something particularly satisfying about a great night cream. Unlike the morning routine, where SPF, makeup and the practicalities of the day all come into play, your evening skincare has one job: give your skin the right environment and ingredients to support it overnight. And Medik8 Advanced Night Restore has become one of the products we find especially interesting for doing exactly that. A rich multi-ceramide moisturiser developed to nourish, support the skin barrier and complement evening vitamin A, Advanced Night Restore has become one of Medik8’s signature products. So, what makes it different from an ordinary moisturiser? What happens to your skin barrier? To understand Advanced Night Restore, it helps to understand ceramides. Ceramides are lipids naturally found within the skin’s outer protective layer – the skin barrier. A healthy barrier plays an essential role in keeping moisture within the skin while helping protect it from the external environment. When that barrier isn’t functioning optimally, skin can feel dry, uncomfortable or less resilient. This is why modern skincare has increasingly moved away from the idea that effective routines should simply exfoliate or aggressively “correct” the skin. Supporting the barrier matters too. The multi-ceramide approach Advanced Night Restore contains Medik8’s Multi-Ceramide Complex, together with other essential lipids. The formula combines ceramides 1 and 3 alongside phytosterol – described by Medik8 as vegan cholesterol – and fatty acids. These are combined in a specific 3:1:1:1 ratio, designed to mimic and replenish components found naturally within the skin’s lipid barrier. In practical terms, the aim is deeply nourished, comfortable skin with a smoother, fuller and more youthful-looking appearance. More than moisturisation It would be easy to describe Advanced Night Restore simply as a rich night moisturiser, but that doesn’t quite explain the formula. Alongside its ceramide technology sits Medik8’s Midnight Antioxidant Complex. This combines a cell-repairing peptide with antioxidant-rich ingredients including saskatoon berry and dragon fruit extract. The complex is designed to help address the visible ageing effects associated with free-radical damage while supporting smoother and firmer-looking skin. The formula also contains N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG), a naturally occurring molecule which Medik8 says works synergistically with previously applied retinol or retinal products to encourage production of hydrating hyaluronic acid. That brings us to one of Advanced Night Restore’s most important roles. The perfect partner for vitamin A If you’re familiar with Medik8, you’ll know how central vitamin A is to the brand’s skincare philosophy. Products such as Crystal Retinal are designed to be used in the evening as part of a progressive vitamin A journey. Advanced Night Restore has been specifically designed to follow vitamin A. That means a Medik8 evening routine can remain surprisingly straightforward: Cleanse → Targeted serum → Vitamin A → Advanced Night Restore Rather than adding endless layers, each product has a defined purpose. For clients beginning or progressing through a retinal programme, having a moisturiser that supports the skin barrier and complements that routine makes particular sense. What does Advanced Night Restore actually do? Medik8’s current clinical and consumer testing provides some useful context. The brand reports that Advanced Night Restore is proven to visibly reduce stubborn wrinkles and visibly lift the skin within seven days. It also reports: 91% agreed their skin felt restored by morning 96% agreed their skin felt significantly nourished Visible improvement in skin fullness within seven days 100% agreed their skin looked visibly firmer Those results came from an independent clinical study involving 20 volunteers over four weeks. Numbers aren’t everything, of course. Texture, comfort, consistency and whether a product works successfully alongside the rest of your routine are equally important. But they help explain why Advanced Night Restore has developed such a strong following. Who might benefit from Advanced Night Restore? Although it is often discussed in an age-defying context, the appeal is broader than wrinkles alone. We particularly like the concept for clients concerned about: Dry or undernourished skin Loss of firmness or plumpness Fine lines and wrinkles Supporting the skin barrier Complementing an evening vitamin A routine Skin that feels less comfortable overnight Building a more complete Medik8 regime For someone already investing in serums and active ingredients, the moisturiser shouldn’t be an afterthought. It is an important part of the routine. How should you use it? Medik8 recommends applying Advanced Night Restore in the evening after cleansing and serums, smoothing it over the face, neck and décolletage. If you’re using vitamin A, that should sit before Advanced Night Restore. As always, the precise products and frequency should be adapted to your skin and your level of experience with active skincare. More isn’t necessarily better. A well-planned routine containing four appropriate products can often make considerably more sense than a bathroom cabinet containing fifteen products that don’t work together. Connecting homecare with your treatments This is an important part of the Face & Body Collective philosophy. What happens in the treatment room is only one part of your skin journey. Your therapist might see you periodically, but your homecare routine is interacting with your skin every morning and every evening. That makes consistency at home incredibly important. Our aim is therefore to connect the two. As Gemma and Molly build treatment plans with our clients, products such as Advanced Night Restore allow us to consider what happens to the skin between appointments, not just during them. For one client that might mean supporting hydration and barrier function. For another it may form part of a structured Medik8 vitamin A programme. There isn’t one universal routine. Is Advanced Night Restore worth adding to your routine? If you’re looking for nothing more than a basic moisturiser, there are simpler options. Advanced Night Restore becomes particularly compelling when you’re looking for your moisturiser to play an active role within a more sophisticated evening regime. The ceramide-rich formulation, antioxidant complex and deliberate compatibility with vitamin A give it a clear purpose. And that’s exactly what we want from the products we recommend at Face & Body Collective. Not more skincare for the sake of it. Better-planned skincare. For clients using – or considering starting – Crystal Retinal, we can also help establish the appropriate vitamin A level and supporting homecare to create a routine that works as a whole.

Why Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced Is a New Generation of Vitamin C Skincare

by Courtyard Spa

Why Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced Is a New Generation of Vitamin C Skincare

Vitamin C has become one of the most recognised ingredients in modern skincare – and for good reason. Used consistently, a well-formulated vitamin C product can help support brighter-looking skin, improve the appearance of uneven tone and provide valuable antioxidant protection against everyday environmental stress. But not every vitamin C serum is the same. At Face & Body Collective, we believe choosing skincare should be about more than simply looking for the highest percentage of an active ingredient. Formulation, stability, delivery and how comfortably a product works within your wider routine all matter. That is exactly why Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced has caught our attention. What is Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced? C-Tetra Advanced represents the most advanced step within Medik8’s C-Tetra vitamin C family. The formula contains 20% stabilised tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THDA) – Medik8’s chosen form of vitamin C for the C-Tetra range – alongside phyto exosomes and the antioxidant acetyl zingerone. The aim is high-performance vitamin C without simply making the formula increasingly aggressive. Medik8 describes C-Tetra Advanced as clinically proven to visibly brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles in seven days, while its testing reported no disruption to the skin barrier. That combination of performance and skin-barrier consideration is particularly interesting to us. Why use vitamin C in the morning? Our skin encounters environmental stress every day. Pollution, UV exposure and other external factors can contribute to the formation of free radicals. Antioxidants such as vitamin C form an important part of a well-designed morning skincare routine because they help defend against this oxidative stress. Vitamin C can also support a more radiant and even-looking complexion, making it particularly appealing to people concerned with: Dull or tired-looking skin Uneven-looking skin tone Visible pigmentation Fine lines and signs of ageing Loss of radiance Environmental skin stress It is one of the reasons Medik8 places vitamin C at the centre of its well-known CSA philosophy: vitamin C and sunscreen in the morning, vitamin A in the evening. It is a straightforward philosophy, but one that can form the foundation of a very sophisticated skincare routine. What makes C-Tetra Advanced different? The concentration is certainly noteworthy. C-Tetra Advanced contains 20% stabilised vitamin C, compared with 7% in the original C-Tetra and 14% in C-Tetra Luxe. But percentage alone isn’t what makes this formula interesting. C-Tetra Advanced combines its stabilised vitamin C with phyto exosomes, designed to support skin resilience, and acetyl zingerone, an antioxidant which helps defend against the visible ageing effects associated with free radicals. The result is a formula designed for someone wanting to take their vitamin C routine beyond entry-level radiance and towards more comprehensive age-defying skincare. What results can you expect? Skincare should always be approached with realistic expectations. No serum can replace every other element of a good routine, and consistency matters enormously. That said, Medik8 has produced particularly interesting clinical and consumer results for C-Tetra Advanced. The brand reports that its testing demonstrated visibly brighter skin and visibly reduced wrinkles after seven days. It also reports that 100% of participants saw visibly brighter skin in seven days and noticed visible improvements in skin tone and hyperpigmentation during that period. After four weeks, 100% reported significantly smoother-looking skin texture. Those are compelling results, but we still view C-Tetra Advanced as part of a routine, rather than a miracle product used in isolation. Where does C-Tetra Advanced fit into your routine? For most clients, C-Tetra Advanced will sit within the morning routine. After cleansing, apply your serums according to their recommended order before following with moisturiser where required and, crucially, daily SPF. For those following Medik8’s CSA philosophy, this creates a simple structure: AM: Cleanse → Vitamin C → Moisturiser → SPF PM: Cleanse → Targeted serums → Vitamin A → Moisturiser The exact routine can, of course, be adjusted depending on your skin. Interestingly, C-Tetra Advanced can also be incorporated alongside Liquid Peptides Advanced MP, giving us the opportunity to combine antioxidant vitamin C with sophisticated peptide technology within a more advanced routine. Who might consider C-Tetra Advanced? We see C-Tetra Advanced being particularly attractive to someone who already understands active skincare and wants more from their morning serum. It may be worth exploring if your priorities include radiance, uneven-looking tone, visible pigmentation, fine lines or broader preventative age-defying skincare. However, stronger does not automatically mean better for every person. Someone completely new to vitamin C may be better suited to another point within the C-Tetra family. Equally, someone already using multiple active products may benefit from having their complete routine reviewed before introducing another high-performance serum. That is where professional skincare advice becomes valuable. Our Face & Body Collective approach At Face & Body Collective, our approach is not simply to recommend whichever product happens to be newest. We look at your skin, what you currently use, what you want to achieve and how your home skincare can complement the professional treatments you receive with us. Sometimes that means simplifying a routine rather than adding to it. For the right client, however, C-Tetra Advanced offers an exciting combination: sophisticated vitamin C technology, antioxidant defence and visible age-defying benefits within a formula designed with the skin barrier in mind. And that makes it a very interesting addition to the Medik8 family. Discover C-Tetra Advanced Shop Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced online with Face & Body Collective, or speak with our therapists in clinic if you’d like help deciding where vitamin C should sit within your skincare routine. If you’re unsure which Medik8 vitamin C is right for you, we’d always rather help you choose the right formula than simply the strongest one.
